But sometimes UPI transaction fails due to network problem or bank server down. In such a situation, the question arises, can money be sent through UPI even without internet? The answer is yes! Now you can make offline payment with the help of USSD service even without internet.
Do this before starting offline UPI payment
To make offline payment, your mobile number must be linked to the bank account. After this set UPI PIN from your bank’s app or website. Once this process is completed, you can easily do offline transactions.
How to transfer money without internet
- Type 99# in the *dialer of your mobile and press the call button.
- A menu will open on the screen in which options like Send Money, Check Balance, Request Money will be visible.
- Now select the bank account from which you want to make payment.
- After this enter the recipient’s mobile number, UPI ID or bank account number and IFSC code.
- Type the amount you want to send and finally enter your UPI PIN.
Your payment will be successful within a few seconds, that too without internet connection.
Limits and Charges
Through this service you can do a maximum transaction of up to ₹ 5,000. A nominal fee of ₹0.50 is charged on every transaction. This facility is available 24×7, works even on holidays and is supported on all mobile networks and handsets.
