No liquor for Delhiites: Due to the assembly elections, there will be no liquor in Delhi from February 3 to 5

The Delhi government has ordered the closure of liquor shops and other places serving liquor in the city from February 3 to 5. Apart from this, alcohol will not be available on February 8, the day of the announcement of the election results. In a recent gazette notification issued by the Commissioner of Excise, Delhi, voting days and counting days for the 70-member Delhi Legislative Assembly have been declared dry days for various excise licenses under the Excise Rules-2010. It has been ordered that there will be a dry day from 6 pm on 3rd February to 6 pm on 5th February (during the 48 hours fixed for the end of the election) and again on 8th February on the counting day too, alcohol will not be served.

Liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and establishments selling or serving liquor will not be allowed to sell or serve liquor to any person during Dry Day,” the notification said.

It said that non-proprietary clubs, star hotels, restaurants including others and hotels run by any person, even if they have been issued licenses of various categories for keeping and supplying liquor, cannot serve liquor. will not be allowed News-Patiala
