No possibility of alliance with Congress in Delhi assembly elections: Kejriwal

New Delhi, December 11

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday once again denied the possibility of an alliance with the Congress for the Delhi Assembly elections. After this, there has been a pause on the ongoing news about the two parties contesting the elections together. In a post on ‘X’, Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the elections in Delhi on its own strength. The former Chief Minister of Delhi said that there is no possibility of an alliance with the Congress.

His reaction came amid media reports suggesting an alliance between the two parties is likely for the 70-member Delhi assembly elections to be held in February. At the beginning of this month too, Kejriwal had denied the possibility of an alliance between ‘AAP’ and Congress for the Delhi elections.

Sources said that the Congress and AAP are seen as taking a cautious step in view of the upcoming Delhi elections so that future options remain open. AAP and Congress contested the Delhi Lok Sabha elections together earlier this year but lost to BJP in all 7 seats.

They failed to reach a seat-sharing agreement before the Haryana assembly elections in October despite several rounds of talks. AAP has released two lists of its total 31 candidates so far. The list of remaining candidates is expected to come soon. –News-Patiala
