No support from center to start canal project: Goyal

Punjab Water Resources Minister Barinder Goyal initiated the development works costing Rs 70 crore to bring water to the tails for drinking and irrigation in the constituency due to the initiative of Shutrana MLA Kulwant Singh Bazigar. Among them, the foundation stones of Shutrana, Samarpur, Rasauli Minor, Karamgarh Link-2 Canal System, Choa Link-2 Canal System, Minor 3, Minor 5, Bishangarh Minor and Atalan Minor were laid. He said that now people will get one and a half times more canal water than before.

Barinder Goyal also said that the central government is not giving any support to Punjab due to which there is a delay in starting the canal water projects while the Punjab government has started the projects to supply drinking canal water in 85 cities of the state. .

He said that more than 75 thousand acres of the constituency will get canal water in the paddy season, tube wells will be closed and electricity and underground water will be saved. Barinder Goyal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, water is being delivered to the tails. He said that MLA Kulwant Singh Bazigar has resolved the problems and demands of the constituency by raising them in the Vidhan Sabha. He said that the previous governments kept the Ghaggar problem as it is but the current government is making serious efforts to solve the problem.

Constituency MLA Kulwant Singh Bazigar said that the Punjab government has removed the trap of being backward from Shutrana constituency. He said that the previous governments had always turned a blind eye to the constituency by forgetting the decades-old demands of the constituency, but now all the work is being done on priority basis. On this occasion, ADC (J) Isha Singal, SDM Ashok Kumar and Block President Buta Singh Virak etc. were present.

The minister expressed concern about Dallewal’s health

Water Resources Minister Barinder Goyal expressed concern over the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal and said that the Center is bent on ruining agriculture and Punjab. He has also condemned the central government for betraying the farmers and Punjab in response to the question of no response from the central government on the death fast of Jagjit Singh Dallewal.
