Former President of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Chairman of Sikh Dharma Pracharak Committee Baljit Singh Daduwal said that the creation of the post of supervisor in the elections of the Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee in Haryana is not justified because Sri Guru Granth is sacred in Sikhism. There can be no watcher greater than the Lord. He said that the government wants one of the elected members of the management committee to be chosen by the members themselves as the guardian, but no Sikh would want to accept the position of guardian. He said that in the previous elections, when another member was elected as president, the then government offered him the post of guardian but they offered him the post of guardian keeping in mind that Sikhs How could any Sikh accept the position of patron despite being the Guru Granth Sahib in religion. As a result, he politely declined the offer and no other Sikh accepted the position.
He said that the above Ordinance was included in the official notification of the Government of Haryana on October 24, 2022, whereas the above Finance Ordinance was not part of the original Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Act 2014. Daduwal said that the above provisions related to guardians are against the spirit and dignity of Sikhs and also against the objectives of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The administrative executive of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee unanimously passed a resolution against the nomination of the guardian by the Haryana government and said that the Haryana government should amend these provisions as it is also against the principles of every religion due to which the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Sahib The current management committee of the state has written a letter to the Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini requesting to end it. He said that if the government does not do this, then this post will remain vacant during the entire term of the elected committee as before and Sikhs will also be angry with this interference of the government. He expressed the hope that the military government of the state will give orders to withdraw the said order while respecting the sentiments of the Sikhs.
