Delhi School Open: Many cities including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad have been covered with a black sheet of pollution since October. After Diwali, the situation became very bad. AQI crossed 1000 in some places. In view of this situation, the Supreme Court immediately implemented GRAP 4 in Delhi (GRAP 4 in Delhi NCR Schools). Under this, all the schools of Delhi-NCR were closed and classes were being held online.

Several hearings were held in the Supreme Court in November regarding Delhi’s pollution. First pre-primary and primary level schools were closed, then all classes except 10th and 12th were shifted to online mode. After that, orders were given to close colleges (Delhi schools closed) from 10th, 12th. However, now as the weather has changed i.e. there has been a slight drop in the level of pollution, all the schools in Delhi (Delhi AQI) have been opened.

Delhi Schools Reopened: Classes will start in schools from today…
Most of the schools in Delhi NCR opened only last week. But in some schools (where possible) classes were still being conducted in online mode. In fact, the Supreme Court had handed over the decision to open schools to the CAQM. CAQM had advised to open schools in hybrid mode. This meant that the decision to open a school could be taken by the principal or other officials themselves. But today all schools have been ordered to open from 06 December 2024.

Delhi School Timings: Timings changed in many schools…
Winter has hit most cities of North India including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad (today’s weather). Keeping this in mind, the school timings have been changed. Many kindergarten level schools are now opening at 9-10 am instead of 7 or 8 am. Parents are advised to check the timing before sending their child to school today or tomorrow. These days, most of the schools are preparing to complete the exam syllabus.

Delhi School Holidays: Holidays were announced in many places…
Children of many government schools could not study in online mode. Government schools in Delhi were closed due to lack of internet and other facilities for online education. Similarly, in many private schools, play groups, nursery and prep classes, i.e. classes for undergraduate level children, are being postponed. Indeed, it is not easy to keep such small children sitting in front of the screen for a long time.
