Now you can get BSNL SIM from your home Do KYC yourself and get a new connection without standing in line know the complete process

BSNL SIM: Taking an important step towards making mobile connectivity easier and facilitating customers, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has started a new service to deliver door-to-door SIM cards. Now customers can order a new prepaid or postpaid SIM through the online portal sitting at home and they will not need to go to any shop for this.

With the introduction of this service, BSNL has now joined the queue of private companies like Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea, which is already offering doorstep SIM delivery. However, BSNL has not yet clarified whether the facility will be free or not, while the services of private companies are usually available without any fee.

How to order BSNL SIM card at home?

To avail this facility, users have to go to the special portal of BSNL. There they can opt for taking a new mobile number or porting the existing number to BSNL network. This will help BSNL to add new customers and it will be easy for other network users to switch.

The process starts with filling a simple registration form, which has to give PIN code, full name and an alternative mobile number for KYC (Know Your Customer). After this an OTP is sent to that alternative number, which confirms the request. After this, the required self-KYC process has to be completed, only then the SIM is issued and sent to your address.

Why was this change for BSNL?

BSNL is currently facing a decline in the number of customers. According to the April month data of TRAI, BSNL lost 2 million active customers and a total of 2 lakh users were reduced. Also, its VLR (Visitor Location Register) ratio was also just 61.4%, which is the lowest compared to any big telecom operator. It shows how many people are active on BSNL’s network.

To overcome this crisis, BSNL has taken this step so that people of rural and town areas can easily take new connections where BSNL stores are limited. Information and help related to this service can also be obtained from the customer service center.

Although this initiative of BSNL is a step taken in the right direction according to time, but its success will depend on how quickly and the KYC process is completed in a quick and reliable manner. BSNL will have to improve speed and service quality compared to private companies, only then it will be able to make a strong hold in the telecom market.
