NTA informed on X that the city slip will be released today i.e. on 7 May and the CUET examination will start from May 13. Earlier this exam was to be held from 8 May to 1 June.

Today NTA interacted with UGC

According to sources, NTA had expressed difficulty in getting the University Grant Commission i.e. UGC to get the exam done on the earlier declared date. A meeting between NTA and UGC was to be held on 6 May to take a decision on the new date, after which the new exam dates have been officially announced.

Why the exam is getting delayed

According to the reports, a major reason for the delay in the CUET exam is the NEET-OG entrance exam last Sunday. This examination was held at more than 4 thousand centers. Because of this, NTA is asking for more time than UGC to organize CUET.

This year the exam will be completely computer-based (CBT) for all 37 subjects. This exam will be 60 minutes. It will have 50 multiple choice questions. The number of shifts daily will vary on the basis of the exam center. Examination can be done in two to three shifts daily.

Unlike previous years, this time NTA has not released an official date sheet. Instead, the information can be shared directly through the city slip.
