TRAI Warning: If you are also getting calls or messages to earn thousands of rupees every month by installing mobile towers on your house or land. TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has issued a warning regarding such fake offers. According to TRAI, some thugs are offering attractive offers to people by telling themselves to be associated with big telecom companies like Airtel, Jio, BSNL or VI. They claim that installing mobile towers on your land will earn fixed every month, but in reality it is an organized fraud.

TRAI posted from its official X (first Twitter) account and told that TRAI neither releases NOC nor charges any tower. These calls and SMS are completely fake and people are being made for the purpose of lime. The trap of these thugs is not limited to phone calls, they are also trying to trap people through newspapers and other promotional mediums. Many times they collect money from people by showing fake documents and fake NOC like registration fees, environmental clearance, processing charge etc.
Fraud in Maharashtra
Recently, a 55 -year -old man was hit by a 55 -year -old man in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, about Rs 34.63 lakh. He was promised that there would be an income of Rs 20,000 every month on installing the tower. But in fact, he was cheated through fake certificates and fake pieces of renowned departments.
How to keep yourself safe?
- Check any person or company information from the website of the Department of Telecommunications (DOT).
- Do not make any payment without certified documents.
- Suscious calls, SMS or email immediately block the TRAI DND app and or file a complaint on the helpline 1930.
- Do not accept any attractive offer without checking.
