Cybershakti: The effect of increasing tension between India and Pakistan is no longer limited to borders, its echo is now heard in the digital world. According to the latest reports, under a cyber operation “Operation Cyber Shakti”, Indian hackers have stalled many important websites and online systems of Pakistan.
What is Operation Cyber Shakti?
This is an unofficial cyber campaign that Indians are running hackers. They claim that it is being fought through digital war codes and keyboards in which many government and defense related websites of Pakistan have been targeted. Reports said that high-profile cyber attachments such as fishing, data breech and website defense were used in this campaign. There is no government agency behind this mission, but it is an independent hacking group, which is giving digital response to the activities going on at the border.
Pakistan’s cyber security affected
According to the information shared on the social media platform X (first Twitter), data related to Pakistani jails has been leaked under Operation Cyber Shakti. Not only this, the database of engineering services of the army has also been hit by this attack. A shocking claim is that sensitive information related to the old power plant of Pakistan was also accessed. Apart from this, data related to banking transactions has also been claimed.
More than 700 websites and 1000 CCTV cameras have been made
According to this hacker group, they have so far down more than 700 Pakistani websites and have accessed more than 1000 CCTV networks. This attack was carried out not only from India, but also from places like Singapore and America, due to which many Pakistani sites were not being accessed internationally.
