Tulip Joshi was born on 11 September 1980 in Mumbai. His father was a Gujarati Hindu and his mother Armenian-Labanani was a Christian, due to which he was brought under a mixed culture. He did his initial studies from Jamnabai Narsi School in Mumbai and then graduated in food science and chemistry. He was interested in modeling from the beginning. In the film, Tulip Joshi played the role of a woman named Kalki, whom a rich man Ramcharan buys as a wife for his five sons. Later he himself also exploits him physically. The personal life of Tulip was also very much discussed. During the films, he met Captain Vinod Nair, who left the Army and became a businessman after being a part of the Indian Army till 1995. The two became friendship and then the relationship turned into love. For nearly four years, both of them stayed in live-in relationship and then got married. After marriage, Tulip kept distance from films and joined business with her husband. Vinod Nair started a management and training consulting company called ‘Kimaya’, in which Tulip Joshi is working as a director. Apart from this, he is also an astrologer.
