On Saturday, the Indian government has appointed IPS officer Parag Jain as the new Chief of R& AW i.e. Research and Analysis Wing. He will replace Ravi Sinha whose term is being completed on 30 June.
Parag Jain will take over on 1 July and his term will be two years. He is currently the head of the Aviation Research Center of R & AW. He has been working for R & AW for almost 20 years.
Glimpse of Parag Jain’s professional journey
1. Director of Aviation Research Center (ARC)
Parag Jain, while leading this technical intelligence center under R&AW, made areas such as Aerial Survelance, Signal Intelligence and Imague Intelligence (IMINT). During his tenure, ARC touched new heights of intelligence analysis.
2. Operation of Operation ‘Sindoor’
His intelligence strategy proved decisive in the exact missile stripes conducted by India on terrorist camps located in Pakistan and POK in May 2025. This operation became a direct example of R&AW capabilities.
3. hero of anti -terrorism campaigns in Punjab
In the 90s and 2000s, Parag Jain acted as SSP in sensitive districts like Bathinda, Mansa, Hoshiarpur and took effective action on terrorism and drug smuggling networks while being DIG in Ludhiana and Chandigarh.
4. Experts of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir Desk
While living in RAW, he led the focused desk on Pakistan. His role was very important in sensitive moments like Balakot Aircraftary and Article 370 removal.
5. International Monitoring and Network Analysis
During the deployment of the Indian mission abroad, he kept a close watch on the Khalistani extremist networks active in Sri Lanka and Canada and alerted the Government of India in time.
