New Delhi, January 7The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the name of Patna High Court Chief Justice K. Vinod Chandran for appointment as a judge of the apex court. A five-judge collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna forwarded Justice Chandran’s name in a meeting held on Tuesday. Justice Chandran was appointed as a Judge of the Kerala High Court on 8 November 2011. Justice Chandran has been serving as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court since 29 March 2023. After approval of their names by the Central Government, the total number of judges of the Supreme Court will be 33 while the sanctioned strength is 34 judges. Supreme Court judge Justice CT Ravikumar has retired on January 3. -News-Patiala
