Poonch/Jammu: An Army jawan was killed in a landmine blast while patrolling the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district today. The victim jawan was patrolling along the LoC in Thanedar Tekri area when he accidentally stepped on a land mine, the official said. Subaiah Varikunta, a constable of 25 Rashtriya Rifles, also lost his life in the blast. White Knight Corps GOC Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva and other officers paid tributes to him. GOC said, ‘We stand with the victim’s family in their hour of grief.’ -News-Patiala
