DPL Contract Welfare PAU Association, an organization of employees working on contract in PAU for a long time, protested in front of Thapar Hall. The employee leaders said that despite giving assurances, their demands have not been met but they are being neglected by imposing various conditions. They announced that as long as their demands are not accepted, they will continue the protest. On this occasion, Union President Jagwinder Singh said that a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor on June 12 last year in which it was agreed to fill 200 posts in PAU and 19 posts in KVK. On this occasion, the age limit of DPL was increased to 45 years and the condition of getting 20 days of DPL every month was also accepted, but unfortunately, none of these conditions were fulfilled. He said that it has been many months since Punjabi test was taken for the employees who have been working on contract or daily wage for the last 20-20, 25-25 years in the name of filling up the vacancies and now it has been heard that mathematics etc. Preparing for the test. He said that there are many employees in the varsity who have passed their employment age. He said that such employees should also be confirmed in the university. After this they also took out a protest rally. Baldev Singh Walia, President of PAU Employees’ Union, who arrived on this occasion, also announced his union’s full support to the employees.
