A category criminal lodged in Bathinda jail

After the government successfully implemented V-Kavach jammer in Central Jail, Bathinda, the process of installing it in 12 sensitive jails is going on. An additional CRPF company has also been deployed for security at Bathinda jail. There are about 135 soldiers in the CRPF company. All the hardened criminals have been kept in this jail. Due to this the government does not want to take any risk.

Ultra modern jail to be built in Ludhiana

A high security jail is being set up by the government in an area of ​​50 acres near Ludhiana at a cost of Rs 100 crore. After the completion of the work of this jail, 300 dangerous prisoners will be kept here. Apart from this, to prevent unauthorized mobile usage as well as modern technologies of communication, more than 750 calling systems are being installed in jails so that prisoners can talk to their families and lawyers.

Full body scanners are going to be installed in the jails of Punjab.

2200 prisoners are studying in jails

The department has equipped all 13 sensitive jails with X-ray baggage scanners, including high security areas where dangerous prisoners are kept. Under the “Education in Jails Daat Project” 2200 prisoners are undergoing educational courses, while 513 prisoners are being registered in various skill development programs including electrical work, plumbing and tailoring starting in December this year.

1220 posts will be created

It has also expanded its business initiatives by setting up two new petrol pumps at Nabha and Fazilka taking the total number of petrol pumps to eight at present. Recently 738 Warders and 25 Matrons have been recruited and the recruitment process is going on for 179 additional security staff posts. He informed that the government has given approval to create 1220 posts of various cadres, in respect of which the recruitment process will be started soon.
