A speeding vehicle collided with a canal bridge on the Bathinda-Chandigarh National Highway last night in Barnala district of Punjab. The car driver died in the accident. After the information, the police reached the spot, took possession of the dead body and handed it over to the relatives after postmortem.

According to the information, Amarjot Singh (20), son of Gurdeep Singh, resident of Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Nagar Sangrur, was returning from Moga in two vehicles along with his partner Hardeep Singh and others. As soon as he left Dhanaula’s Rajwada Dhaba after having food, Amarjot started driving the car at high speed. Due to the high speed, the vehicle lost its balance and collided with the Harigarh Canal Bridge.

Driver died in accident
The accident was so terrible that the car was blown apart and the engine fell out. Parts of the vehicle were scattered on the road far away from the incident site. After which, with the help of friends coming behind, the car driver was pulled out with great difficulty. Amarjot Singh died in an accident caused by speeding. Inspector Lakhbir Singh, SHO of Dhanaula police station, said that no action was taken in this accident as there was no fault of anyone. The body of the deceased has been handed over to the relatives after postmortem.
