Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO) Jitendra Jorwal on Sunday announced the voting process for the elections of Municipal Corporation, various Municipal Councils and one Nagar Panchayat.

DC Jorwal said – security arrangements will be completed
Jorwal has reaffirmed the commitment of the district administration to conduct free and secure elections. He reviewed the arrangements at these places and gave necessary directions to the officials. He said that the district administration should make strict security arrangements during both voting and counting. The guidelines of the State Election Commission will be strictly followed.

Apart from this, he also inquired about the CCTV, power supply, fire safety measures and maintenance of official registers in the polling strong room premises. DC Jorwal said the district administration has put in place an elaborate system of security measures and procedural checks to ensure complete security of the strong room.
DC Jorwal said that the officers deployed on election duty should feel proud of their important role. DC Jorwal also explained the methods of handling EVMs to the election officials and staff. He said that all the employees appointed for election duty should concentrate on their responsibilities instead of taking liberties.
