The accused have been identified as Ankush Rishi, resident of Preet Nagar, New Shivpuri and Kanav Kumar, resident of Guru Nanakpura, Civil Lines. The case was registered after the statements of investigating officer ASI Iqbal Singh.

The gun house of the accused was closed in 2022

According to investigation, Ankush Rishi had asked for cartridges for a wedding ceremony. He contacted his friend Kanav Kumar, who previously owned a gun house located on Bindraban Road. Despite the gun house being closed in 2002 due to legal process, Kanav allegedly obtained 9 30 bore cartridges through illegal means and supplied them to Ankush.

Inspector Balwinder Kaur, SHO of Division No. 8 police station, revealed that Kanav is suspected of procuring cartridges from other gun house owners. He said that we have registered the case on the basis of secret information and no arrest has been made yet.

Once the accused are caught, we will know where the cartridges were brought from and will take action against all those involved in it. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. The police are also trying to find out whether the accused had supplied pills to some other people also.
