Working President of Shiromani Akali Dal, Balwinder Singh Bhundar, while talking to reporters here today, claimed that party president Sukhbir Singh Badal and other party office-bearers including the party has been given a 20-day deadline to submit a report. The deadline has been met.
Mr. Bhundar, who reached Takht Sri Damdama Sahib to perform a religious service, was questioned by journalists about not following the order given by Sri Akal Takht Sahib regarding the resignations of the Akali leadership, he said that the Shiromani Akali Dal has asked for resignations from the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib. A 20-day moratorium was sought to follow the entire process in the case, which has been granted by the Singhs and now the next decision will be taken during that time.
On this occasion, Balwinder Singh Bhundar expressed objection to the date announced by the State Election Commission for holding the Municipal Council elections and said that the entire Sikh community celebrates the martyrdom fortnight after December 15. Therefore, it is not valid to hold elections at such a time. He demanded from the Election Commission to change the election dates considering the sentiments of the Sikhs. On this occasion, Jathedar Mohan Singh Bangi, Bhai Gurpreet Singh Jhabbar, Major Singh Dhillon and Bhai Surjit Singh Raipur, four members of the Shiromani Committee were present.
