Straw bales caught fire today at Verbio Company’s plant on Lehragaga-Patdarn road which took a terrible turn. A police party and fire brigade under the leadership of DSP Deepinder Singh JG reached the spot but the fire could not be controlled.
This time there was no loss of life. On this occasion, about 4 thousand tons of straw caught fire, which was extinguished by more than half a dozen fire brigade vehicles from across the district, but the fire could not be extinguished till six o’clock in the evening.
According to information, a straw dump was built in the straw warehouse on the road from Lehragaga to Patdan road, in which around 4 thousand tons of straw caught fire.
DSP Deep Inder Singh JG said that the actual cause of the fire could not be ascertained. It will be checked. It is to be noted that in village Khandebad Bhutal, Verbio Company had set up a large Akari factory to make gas from straw and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated one of its units. .
