The local administration has sealed the Sirat hospital and de-addiction center in Rupnagar this afternoon. The residents of the nearby residential colony were facing problems due to the activities of drug addicts coming to the centre.
SDM Rupnagar Sachin Pathak said that according to the instructions of Director Health Punjab and Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar, his team sealed Sirat Hospital and took possession of all the stock registers and sealed the medicines in the cupboards of the hospital. His keys have been taken into custody by the health department. He said that the license of this hospital has been suspended immediately. He said that the patients who were getting treatment from this hospital can get their treatment from the government hospital.
The SDM said that 22 other hospitals of the owners of this hospital are being sealed serially across Punjab. He said that no patient was admitted in the hospital during today’s operation. He said that at the time of sealing the hospital, there was full support from the nearby residents who were making complaints to the district administration from time to time. Closing this hospital will also solve the problems of these people. He instructed the patients coming to get medicine from the hospital not to disturb the residents of the nearby houses by not going around the hospital. On this occasion, SMO Upinder Singh, Drug Inspector Harpreet Kaur and SHO City Pawan Kumar Sharma and other police personnel and officials were present with him.
The people of nearby houses breathed a sigh of relief
Residents of nearby houses have expressed happiness over the sealing of the de-addiction center by the district administration. Residents of the residential colony near the hospital, Namdar Jaswant Singh, president of the colony’s welfare committee Balwinder Singh, Master Balveer Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, former patwari and Mithun Jain said that the residents of Mohalla have breathed a sigh of relief with the closure of the de-addiction center. He said that due to the activities of drug addicts coming here to take medicine, they had to face huge problems, which has now come to an end.
