Weather Update: The weather has suddenly changed in Punjab. It is raining in most of the districts of the state since this morning. Sandstorm is also happening in many places. There are reports of hailstorm in many places in Ferozepur district. There is continuous hailstorm in the town of Guruharshay. Apart from this, reports of heavy rain with hail are coming in many other districts.
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy winds along with rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on December 27, 28 and 29. Meteorological department says that the year will start with record breaking cold. It is currently raining in most parts of Punjab. This cycle may continue for a few days.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain, severe cold and dense fog for 3 days in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department said that the next 2 days are very important in Delhi NCR – on December 27 and 28, there is a possibility of heavy rain with strong winds (heavy rainfall red alert). Cold wave may also come in the national capital due to rain. The minimum temperature can reach 4 to 5 degrees Celsius at the end of the year. Along with this, due to snowfall on the mountains due to Western Disturbance, strong north and north-westerly winds have reached the plains and people’s lives have become difficult.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain along with hailstorm in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab. Weather in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand remained mostly dry during the last 24 hours. Cold wave conditions prevailed in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan and the mercury was recorded several degrees below normal.
