In an interview on YouTube channel of Fe D’Souza, Ratna Pathak Shah said, ‘I am quoting one thing of Naseer. You should become an actor only when you feel that if you do not act, you will die. I am not among those people, sorry. I have been debated many times with Naseer on this matter. How can they say that? What will happen to me then? I do not think that if I cannot act, I will die.

He further said, ‘I love acting and I enjoy it, I do it very concentrated and seriously. But I do not think that this is my desire in the only life. Naseer said that if you want to become an actor-actor, full time, career actor, then it should be equally important for you.

Ratna Pathak Shah said, ‘A lot of acting students come to Naseer and say that Sir, I will try two-three years, I will see what happens. Naseer would answer them now, forget about it. You will not get anything in two years, I can promise you. Are you always ready to wait? Are you ready to bear everything? All nonsense, all disappointments? All pain? There is a lot of pain in this way. So until you really feel that if you do not act, you will die, do not come to this profession.
