1. Indian Air Force approves buying 97 LCA Mark 1A fighter jet

President Draupadi Murmu approved the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 on 18 August 2025.
- The bill has provisions to create National Sports Governance Body, National Sports Board, National Sports Election Panel and National Sports Tribunal for the development of sports.
- The bill was passed on 11 and 12 August from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
- The introduction of the National Sports Bill began in 1975.

1. NCERT released two special modules on Operation Sindoor
NCERT has released two special modules for students from class 3 to 12th. It is included for supplementary material.
This module is to raise awareness among school children about India’s military power.
The module states that even though Pakistan refuses to participate in the Pahalgam terror attack, the attack took place on the direct order of Pakistan’s military and political leadership.
These modules have been created for the purpose of raising awareness about India’s military power among school children.
The title of the module for class 3 to 8th is ‘Operation Sindoor-Virtha’s saga’ and the title of the module from 9 to 12th is ‘Mission of Operation Sindoor-Email and Bravery’.
2. NEET-PG results released
The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBMS) has released the result of NEET-PG on August 19, candidates can check their score on NBMS official website Natboard.edu.in.
The NEET-PG exam took place on 3 August, in which more than 2.42 lakh candidates were registered and 2,30,114 candidates attended it.
Of them, 1,28,116 candidates have passed the exam. The exam took place in 1,052 exam center single shift. Candidates of General and EWS category will be considered qualified in 50%. 45% will be required with a cut-off score of 255 candidates of PWBD category.
3. Chhattisgarh High Court’s action on government middle school
The Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered the state government to give compensation of Rs 25,000 to each student of Government Middle School, Lachhanpur, where the students were given the mid -day meal of the dog.
On July 29, all the students of Lachhanpur were served a dog licked food in Baloda Bazar. Even after complaining about this, this thing was ignored and the same food was served.
After coming to the media about this, the High Court has taken action on the school taking cognizance of the case. 2 people including school headmasters have also been suspended.
