Central University Teaching Vacancy: There is a good news for candidates aspiring to get Jobs (Sarkari Naukri) in Central Universities. There are 5,182 teaching posts vacant in Central Universities till October 31, 2024. This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Education Sukant Majumdar in the Rajya Sabha. The minister said that the vacancies arise due to reasons such as retirement, resignation and increase in the number of students. These posts will be filled soon.
The Minister of State said that the responsibility of filling up the teaching posts lies with the concerned central universities. The Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC) regularly direct institutions to make appointments. More than 7,650 teaching posts have been filled so far under the special recruitment drive.
Launch of UGC CU-Election Portal
UGC has launched a unified recruitment portal called “CU-Select” on 2 May 2023. This portal lists available vacancies in all central universities, making the recruitment process simple and transparent.
Posts filled in mission mode
A total of 25,777 posts including 15,139 teaching posts have been filled in mission mode by Central Higher Education Institutions till October 29, 2024. These include appointments of 1,869 Scheduled Caste, 739 Scheduled Tribe and 3,089 Other Backward Classes teachers.
Institutes like CU, IIT, IIIT, NIT, IIM, IISc Bangalore and IISER have filled a total of 25,257 posts so far. Out of these 15,047 posts are for teachers. This initiative of the government and related institutions is an important step to maintain quality in higher education.
