Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will attend the 76th Republic Day celebrations on January 26 as the chief guest. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Subianto will be on his first visit to India as President on January 25 and 26. Indonesia, as a comprehensive strategic partner, is an important pillar of India’s ‘Act East Policy’ and its vision for the Indo-Pacific, the ministry said. Last year, French President Emmanuel Macron attended the Republic Day celebrations. Meanwhile, the state-of-the-art light helicopter (ALH) Dhruva designed and developed in the country will not be a part of the Republic Day flypast this year. In the same month, after the helicopter crashed, its flight was stopped. -News-Patiala
