India’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishab Pant was making a comeback after suffering an injury in the Test series against South Africa. However, Pant was injured again during the unofficial Test match against South Africa A. Pant left the field after being injured on the third day of the second unofficial Test. Team India is scheduled to play the first Test against South Africa on November 14.

The unofficial test match between India A and South Africa A is being played at the Center of Excellence in Bangalore. While batting on the third day of the match, Pant was hit three times by Shepo Moreki’s bowling. The South African bowler’s ball also hit Pant’s helmet. Pant was forced to retire after three hits to the body. Pant wanted to bat during the match, but coach Rishikesh Kanitkar and the physio told him to retire.

Will Pant play against South Africa?

Rishabh Pant was injured by Chris Woakes during the fourth Test against England in Manchester. Pant’s toe was fractured. Pant is part of the Test series against South Africa almost 3.5 months after recovering from the injury. There’s still time for the India-South Africa series; Pant may take a break and join Team India. India’s playing XI for the first Test against South Africa will be revealed during the match.
