The police said that one laborer died and another was seriously injured due to a collision with Marathi actress Urmila Kothare’s car in Mumbai’s Kandiwali area on Saturday morning. An official said that the actress and her driver were also injured in the accident. The incident took place when the actress was returning home after finishing her shoot.
An officer of Samata Nagar police station said, “Kothare’s car hit two metro rail workers under Poisar metro station in Kandivali East shortly after midnight. One worker died, while another was seriously injured. The actress and her driver were also injured in the accident, but their lives were saved due to timely deployment of airbags.
According to initial information, the car lost control due to high speed, which led to it ramming into the victims who were working on the roadside. He said that a case has been registered against the car driver and the investigation is on.
Kothare has acted in many films, among which Marathi’s ‘Duniadaari’ and Hindi’s ‘Thank God’ are important. -News-Patiala
