ICC has made Rohit the captain of the T20 team of the year 2024. The team selected by ICC includes 4 Indian players including Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya.
Last year, Rohit Sharma led India in the T20 World Cup. Team India performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup last year and won this prestigious trophy for the second time. Last year he scored 378 runs in 11 matches. During this time, his batting average was 42. Last year the Hitman scored runs at a strike rate of 160. Which included 3 fifties. Rohit’s best score was 92 which he scored against Australia in the Super 8 round of the World Cup.
Arshdeep made a splash by bowling fast throughout the year
Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh had a brilliant performance in T20 last year. In the year 2024, he was the highest wicket-taker for the Indian team. This left-arm fast bowler took 36 wickets in 18 matches. Swinging the ball in the powerplay is Arshdeep’s specialty. The batsmen seem to be begging for water on their dangerous yorker. Arshdeep took 4 for 9 in the match against USA in the T20 World Cup, which was his best spell in this format in 2024.
Hardik Pandya became a star
Hardik Pandya batted well as well as bowled in T20 last year. Along with taking 16 wickets in 17 matches, he has also scored 352 runs for the team on many occasions. Pandya bowled brilliantly in the T20 World Cup final. He made a brilliant 16-run save in the final against South Africa and helped India win the World Cup. Pandya took 3 wickets for 20 runs in the final.
Jasprit Bumrah made a wonderful comeback in T20
Jasprit Bumrah performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup. The right-arm fast bowler took 15 wickets in 8 matches. Bumrah’s menacing yorker is not easy for anyone to face. He had consistently performed well last year. Bumrah has been nominated for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year for his outstanding performances.
