Royal Enfield has launched a new retro style bike Classic 650 in India today (27 March). This is the company’s upgraded model of Classic 350. It was introduced by the company at its annual event Motovers-2024. Classic 650 will get new features such as 648cc powerful engine and turn by turn navigation with retro look.

The bike has been introduced with 3 variants and 4 color options. Its ex-showroom initial price has been kept at Rs 3.37 lakh, which goes up to Rs 3.50 lakh in the top variant. It provides black chrome, teal, buntingthorpe blue and Vallam red color options.

Booking, test ride and sales of bikes have been started across India from today. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is not directly competing with anyone, but it will compete with Neo-Retro models such as Gold Star 650 and Kawasaki Z650rs.

Performance: 648cc engine and 6-speed gearbox The Classic 650 has a 647.95cc air/oil-cooled twin cylinder engine for performance, which generates 46.4hp power and 52Nm torque. The engine for transmission is tuned with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is also used in other 650 models of Royal Enfield – Interceptor, Continental GT, Interceptor Beer, Super Metor and Shotgun.

Design: Tiger-I pilot light and tierdrop fuel tank The new Royal Enfield Classic 650 looks like a classic 350. It has new retro LED headlamps and teardrop shape fuel tanks. The motorcycle also has the signature ‘Tiger-I’ pilot light.

For comfort riding, body colored 43mm shova forks will be found in the front of the bike and twin shock absorvers in the rear. It is also provided with twin pester Chrome finished exhausts and expanded rear fenders.

Hardware: Dual channel with 19 inch wheel ABS The bike has been developed on the Royal Enfield Shotgun platform. The same platform is also used in bikes like Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Metaur 650 and Shotgun 650.

It has a 19 -inch front and 18 -inch rear spoke wheels setup. For braking, the bike will get a 320mm front disk with dual channel ABS and a 300mm rear disc brake. The bike’s weight is 243kg.

Talking about the features, the bike has a semi-digital instrument console. It also has an option of optional navigation tripper pod. Tripper Pod Bluetooth gives smartphone connectivity. It has features like turn-by-turn navigation, USB charging port.
