Police made this appeal

He said that as soon as a fraud occurs, people should immediately inform about it on number 1930. Once the crime is reported and details of the transaction are received, the process of putting the fraudulent money on hold is started.
Most people cheated through these scams
In Delhi, people have been cheated the most in the name of investment, digital arrest and boss scam. In scams being done in the name of investment, scammers cheat people of money by luring them with higher earnings. If we talk about digital arrest, in this scammers pretend to be police or government officials and make video calls to people. In this, they extort money from people by threatening to implicate them in false cases. Similarly, in Boss Scam, scammers impersonating a company or a senior official contact the people of the company who look after the finance. By sending fake messages they get people to transfer money in the name of company work.
Ways to protect yourself from scams
Police have advised people to avoid joining online investment groups and not to download apps or files from suspicious links. DCP Kumar said that if someone calls for money posing as a senior officer or boss, then always cross check in such cases. Do not do any such transaction without confirmation.
