Saif Ali Khan Attacker Arrest Live Updates: The accused who attacked Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan with a knife at his Bandra residence has been identified as Mohammed Shariful Islam Shahzad. He has been arrested from Thane adjacent to Mumbai. During interrogation, the suspicion that he was a Bangladeshi deepened. DCP Crime Branch of Mumbai Police said that no such document was found from him which could prove that he is an Indian. He has no home or village in any corner of India. He doesn’t have any other relative here. Police claim that he came to Mumbai about five to six months ago in search of work.

It is being claimed that the accused first revealed his name as Vijay Das. Later it was revealed that his real name is Mohammad Ilyas. He was hiding in a restaurant in Thane. He does housekeeping work there. Police say that since the attack on Saif, he was hiding by changing his name. Sometimes he called himself Vijay Das and sometimes Mohammad Ilyas. He also mentioned his name as Bijoy Das.

Kareena Kapoor had told Mumbai Police during her statement that Saif continued to face the attacker alone and stood as a shield in front of all the women. Mumbai Police has interrogated many suspects but no one has been formally arrested yet. A new picture of a suspect related to the attack on Saif Ali Khan’s house came out on Saturday. In this, the accused is seen in a yellow T-shirt. After the attack on Saif, Karisma Kapoor took care of sister Rishma’s two children while Kareena took her husband to Lilavati Hospital.

Police believe that he may be a notorious criminal. This is because it appears that after leaving the crime scene he had changed his clothes to mislead the investigators. On Friday, a massive search operation was launched to trace the suspect, in which at least two dozen teams of local police, crime branch and crime intelligence unit were involved. In the morning, Bandra police detained a suspect and brought him for questioning, but he was released after five hours. Police found that he had no connection with this case. He only slightly resembled the suspect.
