The glamor of Punjabi dress has now been replaced by boutique culture, while beauty salons are rife for beautification. Due to the passion of Punjabi girls, the boutique business in the state has become 965.58 crores in the last seven years and in the last year 2023-24 there was a business of 203.63 crores. Punjabis have spent 1839.73 crores in seven and a half years for beauty salons alone. Salon owners have done work worth 392.82 crores in the last financial year. The government treasury has received a tax of 12.79 crores from this business in these years.
Women are leading in the boutique business and employment opportunities have also increased. There are also small boutiques open in street houses, royal boutiques doing crores of business. Many companies have city-to-city boutiques. There are a total of 729 boutiques in Punjab that collect tax. Most Ludhiana has 142 boutiques while Amritsar has 68, Mohali 106, Patiala 65, Jalandhar 59 and Bathinda 40. Last year, district Ludhiana had the highest boutique business of 43.59 crores. At the second number, there is a boutique business of 26.40 crores in Amritsar, 20.72 crores in Bathinda and 10.64 crores in Faridkot. Winter arrivals are a source of income for big boutiques. About a year ago, the tax department conducted a survey looking at the growth of this business, in which 700 boutiques were identified as those who were evading taxes. The theft of 13 lakhs of Mohali boutique was caught. Jalandhar’s boutique has an annual turnover of 13.87 crores, while Muktsar’s famous tailor’s turnover was 4.90 crores in the year. There are, in which the range starts from 50 thousand. The boutique also sells jewellery. Amritsar, Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Bathinda are emerging as boutique hubs. Punjab has not escaped from the shadow of the West. There are beauty salons to beautify. 1591 beauty salons collect tax in Punjab. Maximum 383 salons are in Mohali, while Ludhiana has 374 and Jalandhar has 134 salons. The salon owners in Ludhiana have done the most work of 85.60 crores and Patiala at the second place with 70.93 crores. 56.17 crores in Mohali, 40.32 crores in Jalandhar and 18.01 crores in Bathinda. The work of a salon in Jalandhar has been 34.31 crores in the same year, while a salon in Ludhiana has done work of 15.08 crores.

Color of event management…

The work of event management has suddenly taken a peak. In 2018, business people have done business of 4698.14 crores in Punjab in seven and a half years and the highest amount of work has been done in district Mohali of 668.44 crores. 170.41 crore business has been done in Ludhiana. Punjabi people have spent Rs 569.99 crore on decorative items (including flowers) in seven and a half years. It had a business of 56.97 crores in Mohali. 353 businessmen pay its tax. 30 crores in Ludhiana and 19.26 crores in Patiala.
