Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs iPhone 17 Air: The race of thin smartphones has started in 2025. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge will be only 5.84mm thin, which will be the most slim Galaxy smartphone ever. The titanium frame in this phone and the gorilla glass of corning on the front side will be so that this phone will be strong even though it is thin. Its weight is likely to be around 162 grams.
At the same time, Apple’s iPhone 17 Air can be even lighter and thin, which can be up to 5.5mm. The company can use aluminum body, so that the device will remain lighter and environmentally friendly. The special thing is that it will not have a physical sim tray i.e. the design based on ESIM.
Talking about the display, the Galaxy S25 Edge will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel which will give 120Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to get a 6.6-inch OLED screen which will have promotion technology i.e. for the first time a high refresh rate in a non-pro iPhone.
Performance and Software
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to get 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Samsung can also provide Galaxy AI features like live translation, smart photo editing and automation.
On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air will get a new A19 chipset, which will be based on 3Nm technology. It can have 8GB of RAM, but Apple’s brilliant software-hardware tuning enables it to give excellent performance. Apart from this, Apple’s own 5G modem chip will bring better connectivity and battery management.
Talking about the software, you can get to see upgraded Siri, Live Sumari, and AI-based photo tools upgraded with iOS 19. At the same time, one UI (Android 15 based) of Samsung will also emphasize AI-features.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to get 3,900mAh batteries that can support 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. This battery can give a fine performance for average users.
The battery size in the iPhone 17 Air may be slightly small but due to the new A19 chip and iOS optimization it can prove to be more energy-friendly. Magsafe wireless charging and 20W wired charging can be seen in it.
Price and launch date
Samsung has announced that Galaxy S25 Edge will be launched on 13 May 2025. Its price can be between Rs 99,999 to Rs 1,29,999 in India. In Europe, the 256GB variant can be priced at around € 1,249 (₹ 1,20,000) and 512GB variant can be priced € 1,369 (₹ 1,31,600).
At the same time, the launch of iPhone 17 Air is expected to be with the iPhone 17 series in September 2025. Its starting price can be $ 899 (about 76,800 rupees), and in India it can start from Rs 89,900.
