The new year has started with a change in weather. While the US is facing the fury of fire, most of the Indian states are facing cold winds as well as dense fog. Winter Vacation 2025 is underway in most states of North India including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh (Winter Vacation 2025). In keeping with the weather, some state schools have extended their winter vacations.
In most states of North India, there will be a holiday on the special occasions of Lohri on 13 January 2025 (Lohri 2025) and Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2025 (Makar Sankranti 2025). In such a scenario, schools will open from January 15, 2025 in most districts. But considering the weather, some districts have decided to extend the winter vacation. In fact, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for cold wave and dense fog in these districts for the next few days.
Patna School Holidays: When will schools open in Patna?
In view of the cold weather, the Patna DM has once again ordered the closure of all schools from class I to class VIII. DM Chandrasekhar of Patna has given these instructions keeping in mind the weather. In Bihar’s capital Patna, all schools from class I to VIII will remain closed till January 15. Classes above 8th can be taken from 9 am to 3.30 pm. All schools will open on January 16, 2025 when the frost subsides.
Schools Closed in Ghaziabad: When will schools open in Ghaziabad?
Schools in Noida and Ghaziabad, adjacent to the country’s capital Delhi, are currently closed (Winter Vacation in UP. In many schools in Noida, children’s syllabus is being completed through online classes. Considering the health of children, the Ghaziabad administration has ordered to keep all schools from 1st to 8th standard closed till 18th January, 2025. However, they will not have to come to school on 20th January. Expected to open in 2025.
School Holidays in Delhi: How long are the winter holidays in Delhi?
The Delhi government has given information about the winter holidays from 1 to 15 January 2025 in the school holiday list (Delhi School Holiday List 2025). Accordingly, all government and private schools in Delhi are expected to open from January 16, 2025 (Thursday). However, if the cold wave warning continues for the next few days or the capital remains shrouded in fog, the school holidays may be extended.
