It is becoming difficult for the Aam Aadmi Party government, which came with a big promise to change the face of the education sector, to complete the number of teachers in government schools. While most of the schools in the district are running without permanent heads, there is also a huge shortage of teachers. In Sant Ishar Das Senior Secondary School of Saddowal, Dhaner, Gagewal Chak and village Moom, although science stream has been started up to twelfth in this session, not a single lecturer of science subjects has been appointed there yet. Medical and non-medical students are earning their living by learning from science and mathematics teachers of the lower classes. There is no lecturer for physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics subjects, which is adversely affecting the education of the students. There are lecturers in Political Science and History in Arts subjects while there are vacant posts in Physical Education subjects including Punjabi and English as compulsory subjects. In other schools, the post of principal is also vacant. By the way, the total number of students in the school is around 300, but there are only 7 students in the 11th medical class and 3 students in the non-medical class due to the absence of a science lecturer. Village social worker Jaspal Singh Moom said that this school is the best in terms of facilities for students. If the government and the department fill up the science posts in this school, the number of students will increase greatly and the children of the surrounding villages will benefit. In this regard, District Education Officer (Secondary) Madam Malika Rani said that a written letter has been sent to the department regarding the relevant posts and the vacant posts will be filled soon.
