District Courts National Lok Adalat was held at Faridkot in which 4359 cases were settled with the consent of the parties and awards of Rs. 29 crore 15 lakhs were passed. District and Sessions Judge Navjot Kaur and Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Gurpreet Kaur said that 9 benches were formed in the courts of Faridkot district, one bench in the permanent Lok Adalat and one bench at sub-division Jaito. Apart from this, benches of revenue courts were also set up. Civil cases, cognizable criminal cases, check bounces, recovery cases, traffic challan and domestic dispute cases and pre-litigation cases were settled by mutual consent of both the parties in Lok Adalat. District Legal Services Authority Secretary Gurpreet Kaur said that there is no appeal argument for cases decided in Lok Adalat and such a decision is recognized as a decree and the parties are saved from wasting money and time.
