Share Market: Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rose for the third consecutive session on Tuesday amid buying in blue-chip stocks like HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and strengthening trend in international markets. The BSE benchmark Senxex closed up 597.67 points or 0.74 per cent at 80,845.75.
It had gained 701.02 points or 0.87 percent to 80,949.10 during the day. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty gained 181.10 points or 0.75 percent to 24,457.15. Of the 30-share Sensex pack, Adani Ports gained nearly 6 percent, NTPC, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, Larsen & Toubro, Ultratech Cement, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries were the other big gainers.
