Mumbai, December 20
Stock Market: Indian stock markets continued to be weak on Friday as the stock market opened flat due to pressure from FIIs and depreciation of the Indian rupee. The Nifty 50 index opened up just 9 points at 23,960.70 points, while the BSE Sensex opened up 0.15 percent at 79,335.48 points. The sudden rate cut by the US Fed has jolted markets globally, experts said. However, the possibility of a bullishness towards the end of the year still exists. Selling of FPIs is again making bullishness difficult for the market.
Sectoral indices Nifty IT, Nifty Media and Nifty Pharma improved on Friday, while other indices continued their decline. ANI
