Shomani Akali Dal, which is facing political and sectarian crisis, is now forgetting its great martyrs. Today was the last day of the death anniversary of the founder vice-president of Akali Dal, Shaheed Sewa Singh Lakhriwala, but on this occasion, none of the major leaders of Akali Dal came to pay tribute to him. Only SGPC member Paramjit Singh Khalsa and constituency in-charge Nath Singh Hamidi arrived. Apart from this, no state leader of the opposition parties Congress and BJP also reached the death anniversary of the great martyr.
On this occasion, Iman Singh Maan from Akali Dal (Amritsar) and constituency in-charge Gurjant Singh Kattu said that the sacrifice of Shaheed Lakhriwala is a source of inspiration for all of us today. Jathedar Tarsem Singh, father of MP Amritpal Singh from Akali Dal heir Punjab, said that brave warriors like Shaheed Sewa Singh fought against the oppressors. On this occasion, State President of Revolutionary Center Punjab, Narayan Dutt said that Shaheed Lakhriwala raised his voice against the oppression of the people by the British and Rajwaras. Congress District President and MLA Kuldeep Kala Dhillon, Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, Jagsir Singh Chhiniwal of BKU Kadian, Inderjit Singh of BKU Sidhupur, Nath Singh Hamidi, former Sarpanch Pargat Singh Lakhriwala also paid homage to the martyrdom of Shaheed Lakhriwala. On this occasion, committee president Jagsir Singh Aulakh and Sarpanch Kiranjit Singh Happy honored the leaders who came.
