India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer’s injury in Sydney has worsened. He has been admitted to the ICU of a Sydney hospital. Iyer suffered the injury while running backwards to take a catch during the third ODI in Sydney. According to a BCCI report, Iyer suffered internal bleeding due to a rib injury.
Shreyas Iyer was injured in the left rib. He was taken to the hospital immediately after the injury. Shreyas Iyer sustained the injury while running backwards from backward point to take a catch to dismiss Australia’s Alex Carey. He fell down after taking the catch. As he fell, Iyer was moaning in pain. He was immediately taken off the field.
Recruits may stay in the hospital for 2 to 7 days…
According to a report by news agency News-Patiala, Shreyas Iyer may have to stay in the hospital for 2 to 7 days. Internal bleeding can increase the risk of infection. So, he will be hospitalized for at least a week. BCCI doctors will also monitor the situation closely.
