Singer Ronkini entertained the audience on the third day of the classical music festival

Ronkini’s melodious voice won the hearts of music lovers on the third day of the Shastri Sangeet Utsav organized to promote the rich music tradition of Patiala Gharana. According to information, this festival was started by North Zone Culture Center (NJCC) Patiala last year. Its purpose is to carry forward the rich music tradition of the Patiala Gharana, which is inherited from the founders of classical music. The country’s top musicians showcased their craft at the annual festival. The evening filled with music turned into an incredible experience for the audience, when popular singer and playback singer Ronkini Gupta enthralled the atmosphere with her mesmerizing performances. Ronkini began his performance with the delayed ektal ‘Kaise Sukh Soyesh’ and Drat Khyal ‘Pangatva Roke Savra Shyamsh’ in Raga Bihaag. He sang ‘Savre Salone Se Lage More Nanash’ in Raga Jhinjhoti in three taals. He then performed Tarana in Raga Yaman and his original Bandish ‘Tadre Dani Dimsh’, which the audience honored with thunderous applause. After this, Pandit Uday Kumar Malik, the famous singer of Darbhanga Gharana took the stage. He started his performance with all four grades of aalap and performed the Raga Abhogi Kanhara (Dhamar Taal, 14 measures) ‘Lal ab bhayo hai, nipat kheldash’. He concluded his presentation with the raga Adana (sul taal, 10 measures) ‘Raat Mun Jagat Janni Kosh’. They were accompanied by Mahima Upadhyay on Pakhawaj and Subhan Ali on Sarangi.
