Snowfall: Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib covered with snow

With the first snowfall of the season in Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib located in Uttarakhand and the surrounding area, the cold has taken hold. The rain that started last night continued till 9 am. Below Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, Gurdwara Gobind Dham, which is situated at an altitude of 10 thousand feet, received about 6 inches of snow.

Head of Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust Narinderjit Singh Bindra said that it has been snowing in Ghangria area since last night, although this time the snowfall was late but it was very important to combat climate change. This will improve the environment.

Bhai Sewa Singh, manager of the trust, said that there was light snowfall at the end of the yatra of Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib and after that the weather was dry till now. This is the first snowfall of winter.

He said that it is estimated that one and a half to two feet of snow will have fallen at Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib. He said that the renovation works are currently going on at Gurdwara Gobind Dham. This year, more than two and a half lakh devotees have bowed down for the pilgrimage to Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib.
