So far 5 people have been pulled out from the debris, relief and rescue operations are continuing


Mohali: A major accident took place near Mohali on Saturday evening. A multi-storied building near Sohana suddenly collapsed. According to the information received, a gym was being run here and when the accident took place, more than 10 people were inside the gym and it is suspected that they were buried. As soon as this accident came to light, Lok Sabha member Malvinder Singh Kang, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh and other high officials also reached the spot.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has shared a post on his ‘X’ account expressing his grief after receiving the information about the accident that took place in Mohali’s Sohana. He wrote in his post, “Sad information has been received about the accident of a multi-storied building near Sohana in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali). The entire administration and other rescue teams were deployed at the spot. I am in constant touch with the administration. We pray that there is no loss of life, we will also take action against the culprits. People should support the appeal administration.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said, “Right now our entire focus is on rescuing the people buried under the debris. NDRF and army teams are engaged in rescue operations. The police is helping these teams.”

According to the information received, so far five people have been taken out of the box under the debris of the building. who have been taken to a local hospital. Currently rescue operations are going on but no one has been identified yet.
