New Delhi: After the disastrous terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam’s Basaron Valley, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has repeated its stand from 2019 and called for a complete ban on Pakistani artists in the Indian entertainment world once again. Meanwhile, actor Amit Sadh has shared his views on this new instruction while promoting his upcoming film Pune Highway.
Talking to ANI, Amit expressed unwavering support for the government’s decisions and said, ‘The country comes first. I believe in the government. I believe in those who are running the country and the decisions they take. Sometimes, there is no right or wrong in life. Therefore, I believe the government and the steps to be taken by them for our country. FWICE first issued a ban after the Pulwama attack in 2019. Now, after the Pahalgam tragedy on 22 April, the organization has reiterated its call again, emphasizing national solidarity amidst increasing tension between India and Pakistan.
Addressing the media, FWICE General Secretary Ashok Dubey said, ‘Since this is a matter of national interest, the nation comes first. Continuous attacks, including recent attacks in Pahalgam on our tourists, are shameful. We have once again issued a press release which states that if any of our members were found working with Pakistani artists or technicians, we will take strict action against them and stop cooperating with them further.
Ashok further informed that official letters are being sent to all the organizations associated with FWICE. Additionally, the federation has filed a petition from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to issue a formal notification, stating that any Indian artist working with Pakistani citizens should be accused of treason. Significantly, in the terrorist attack, 27 people died, including all Hindus and a Muslim.
