Surrey: Sunset Indo-Canadian Senior Society Vancouver organized a grand event dedicated to the martyrdom week of the four sons of Dasam Patshah Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. During this event, Rai Aziz Ullah Khan, the descendant of Rai Kala, who received the holy Ganga Sagar by serving Guru Gobind Singh Ji, attended as the chief guest. Rai Aziz Ullah Khan has also been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Addressing the large number of devotees gathered during the event, Rai Aziz Ullah told the story of Guru Gobind Singh ji leaving Machiwara as a Pir after the battle of Chamkaur Sahib and then passing through various villages to reach Raikot. After bringing the news of Rai Kala’s family’s service to Guru Sahib by taking refuge with the Mughal government and the martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji and the younger Sahibzadas from Sirhand through Nur, Guru Sahib gave the family the holy Ganges Sea, a scroll containing a book and The entire history of offering a kirpan was presented to the congregation.

President of the society Gurbaksh Singh Sidhu, General Secretary Surjit Singh Minhas, Sucha Singh Keller and other office bearers honored Rai Aziz Ullah Khan and shared more historical stories including the support of Guru Sahib by the Rai family during difficult times. Dinesh Malhotra, a member of the society, moderated the forum and highlighted the steps being taken by the society for the betterment of the Canadian Punjabi community.
