Even today there are many records in cricket that have been waiting to be broken for years. Indian cricketers have created many records but many of them are records that are almost impossible to break. Star batsman Virat Kohli has a record in T20 international cricket that is unlikely to be broken. Although Kohli is an excellent batsman and has created many records in batting. But Kohli has achieved a feat in bowling that has not been broken for many years. Kohli made this record in 2011 in a T20 match against England. Kohli has done the miracle of taking a wicket off zero balls. In 2011, in a T20 match against England, Virat bowled a ball wide of the leg side to Kevin Pietersen and Pietersen was stumped trying to play it. Pietersen was dismissed on ball number zero.
Experienced captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) who won all the three ICC trophies under his captaincy also created many records to his name. Dhoni holds the record for most stumpings as a wicketkeeper in all three formats. In his 15-year international career, Mahi made 195 stumpings at a rate of 1.363 dismissals per innings. Dhoni has 38 stumpings in Tests, 123 in ODIs and 34 in T20 Internationals. No other wicket-keeper is even close to this record of Dhoni. Second in the list is former Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara who has a total of 139 stumpings across the three formats of Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
Sachin has 100 international centuries to his name:
The god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, created many records in his 24-year international career. Sachin holds the world record for scoring 100 centuries in international cricket. He scored 51 centuries in Test matches and 49 centuries in ODI matches. India’s Virat Kohli is slowly approaching Sachin’s record. Kohli has 81 international centuries to his name. Ricky Ponting is third in this list with 71 hundreds. Team India captain Rohit Sharma played an innings of 264 runs off 173 balls against Sri Lanka, which is almost impossible to break.
Rahul Dravid holds the record for most balls: Team India’s Rahul Dravid, known as ‘The Wall’, is the only player to have faced 31,258 balls in Test cricket. Dravid achieved this feat in 164 Tests. Dravid is followed on the list by Sachin Tendulkar, who faced 29,437 balls in his 24-year international career. Dravid has spent 44,152 minutes and around 736 hours in Test matches, which is a world record. It was a tough task for the bowlers to get them out.
