A film was released 25 years ago, which made the filmmaker insolvency. They drowned in debt and addiction. The film made on greed became a victim of greed. We are talking about Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘Dil Mein Pat Le Yaar’. Hansal Mehta described his emotion on the film after 25 years.
New Delhi: The film ‘Dil Mein Pat Pat Yaar’ was directed by Hansal Mehta, which is famous for films and series like ‘Aligarh, “Shahid and’ Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story ‘. Recalling the film, Hansal Mehta told how he became bankrupt due to this film.
Saurabh Shukla wrote the screenplay
Hansal Mehta wrote, ‘I remembered that it has been 25 years since the release of’ Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar ‘and this is a strange, bitter feeling. ‘Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar’ started with a strong script by Saurabh Shukla, sharp, fun and full of possibilities. However, we had to change it under the pressure of manufacturers.

The realization of the film taught a big lesson
Hansal Mehta further wrote, ‘It is ironic that a film based on greed itself was destroyed due to greed and failed. It is now learned that the negatives of the film have also been destroyed due to negligence and neglect. This failure pushed me into the depth of alcohol, debt and bankruptcy. Still after 25 years, I still stand to tell stories. This film gave me friends, snatched some friends and taught me a lesson that is still with me. I am grateful to them all. I have forgotten myself and those who had ever blamed the failure. One day I will write in detail about it in my memoir. The film ‘Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar’ featured actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Tabu, Saurabh Shukla, and Gajraj Rao. The film could not perform well at the box office. Hansal Mehta was quite broken after this film.
