Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni while forming a task force for the eradication of TB in the district directed that a record of every patient be kept and every needy patient should be given proper diet as per the advice of experts.
Today in the meeting, it was decided that the patients who are not taking proper food due to financial inability, should be provided with food every month by the district administration with the support of various commercial establishments, Red Cross, religious organizations and charitable men. The Deputy Commissioner also instructed to seek the cooperation of all government officials and employees for this. He offered to adopt 10 patients for the diet.
Mrs. Sahni said that Amritsar should be the first district in the country to eliminate TB from the district and we will invest whatever time, resources, money and energy is required for this. He also instructed to map the residence of more than 5 thousand patients in the district.
